The Prayer Shawl group is once again adding scarves to the fence for people who need to be warm and a scarf to help them.
We welcome Grace as the new greeter at Westminster. She comes to work with the minister and is often greeting people as they enter the church.
Still a puppy and lots to learn.
This is an opportunity for Newcomers to sell their crafts, baking and food in a free space. Sponsored by the WUC Outreach Task Group. Please see the poster: 2017 World Market Poster.
One action arising from September’s “Women connecting with Women” event was the launch of a monthly Saturday Soup programme at Westminster. December’s soup kitchen was covered by CBC Saskatchewan! Check it out at cbc.ca/news (or Google “Saturday soups served monthly by Westminster United Church”).
The Right Reverand Jordan Cantwell, Moderator of the United Church of Canada, delivered the Reflection at the Service of Praise at the close of the]90th annual meeting of Saskatchewan Conference of the United Church. The theme for the meeting and her message was Love Your Neighbour. This service was held at Westminster United Church in Regina with 497 people in attendance. The service also included two ordinations, recognition of one Designated Lay Minister and two transfers in to the United Church from other denominations. Music is a key part of every conference. Flamingo Friday led all of the music throughout the 3 days’ meetings and again on Sunday. A joint choir comprised of attendees at the annual meeting and members of Westminster Church choir provided 3 musical selections. Prior to the end of the service the handing over of the presidency was made from outgoing President Rev. John Haas to the incoming President Rev Krystall Shemerka. A reception was held following the service.
